Stephanie Colligan-Ishola is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana and Panther Band council member of the Atakapa Ishak nation who resides in Texas. She is a first time author and avid reader. She is a mental health facilitator, certified crisis instructor, member of the National Organization for Human Services, American Psychological Association, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, The Society for Collegiate Leadership & Achievement, lifetime member of the American Federation of Teachers and volunteer for the Medical Reserve Corps. Her humanitarian and advocacy work began 26 years ago and continues till this day. Her passion for researching and collaborating with local officials, organizations and community members that empowers those in need can be seen through her various activities promoting social change among under represented communities. She founded the House of Anajat, a foundation with the mission to provide services to women and teens in crisis. Her dedication to charity started with her supporting St. Jude hospital for many years.
